Canadian
 Music Week Workshop

Sunday November 18, 2018

2:00-5:00 pm

St. Matthew on the Plains

126 Plains Rd E, Burlington ON L7T 2C3

Do you teach aspiring composers? On November 18, we will be hosting a composition workshop and all teachers and students are welcome to attend.

This workshop will feature local Canadian composers Jana Skarecky and Sharona Clarke in showcasing some of their compositions and revealing the creative process involved in their compositions. Let’s explore and discover together how we can encourage composition for yourselves as teachers, or for your students in the lessons – including pattern play, improvisation, recording, and experimentation with sounds and instruments. You are welcome to take part in a compositional activity where you can create something with the guidance of the group.

Following the workshop, we will be hosting a recital for students to perform works by Canadian composers, including their own compositions!
